| E+MAX
& MAX+PLUS II Baseline Software |
| |
| Altera now offers a choice of two
free software packages: the E+MAX? and MAX+PLUS II?
BASELINE development tools. These tools provide support
for a wide range of programmable logic device (PLD)
densities. |
| |
What is the E+MAX Development
Tool? |
The E+MAX software allows you to design
for and program the industry's most popular product-term
PLDs: the Altera? MAX? 7000, MAX 7000A, MAX 7000AE,
MAX 7000B, and MAX 3000A devices. The E+MAX software
includes Altera native schematic design entry, full
featured timing analysis, and simulation capabilities.
The E+MAX software version 10.1 does not include Altera's
native VHDL and Verilog HDL synthesis. Instead, customers
can download Exemplar Logic's LeonardoSpectrum-Altera
synthesis tools. E+MAX, in conjunction with these
world-class synthesis tools, provides a complete solution
for targeting Altera product-term PLDs. |
| |
What is the MAX+PLUS II BASELINE
Development Tool |
| The MAX+PLUS II BASELINE software
allows designers to target low to mid-density LUT
PLDs. Altera-specific version of Exemplar Logic's
LeonardoSpectrum-Altera synthesis software is now
available for download. The MAX+PLUS II BASELINE software,
in conjunction with these world-class synthesis tools,
provides a complete solution for customers targeting
low to mid-density LUT PLDs.. |
| |
Feature Comparison |
| The E+MAX and MAX+PLUS II BASELINE
development tools feature seamless development flows,
which allow you to enter, compile, and perform timing
analysis on your design and program a wide range of
Altera PLDs. E+MAX is a subset of MAX+PLUS II BASELINE
that offers a smaller download image for customers
targeting only the MAX 7000 and MAX 3000A families.
See Table 1 for a comparison of features and device
support available in the E+MAX and MAX+PLUS II BASELINE
software. |
