Established in May 1992, the R&D Center in MJL
Technology successfully commercialized the world's
first carrier-grade UMS (Unified Messaging System).
MJL has deployed this system at various
telecommunications service providers in Korea,
including SK Telecom, Korea Telecom, and Hanaro
Telecom. |

| For the past 10 years,
MJL has remained as one of the leaders in developing
Korea's telecommunications industry through
continued investment in the future - MJL reinvests
over 12% of total revenues into R&D each year - and
has built its business around the customer. R&D
Center's research members, most of whom have
obtained a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
or Computer Science Engineering, are focused on the
development of strategically significant
technologies, core products and business solutions. |

| A few noteworthy events
include Lark
Series 10, developed by the MJL R&D Center
since 1997, is a carrier-grade Unified Messaging System
(UMS) with proven scalability and reliability. The
MJL R&D Center also developed and launched the world's
first real-time, voice-enabled, Web access service, Mvoiceweb in November 2000. This service provides
real-time access to web content through any telephone,
mobile or land-based, without any modification required
by the content provider. Additionally, the research
center is currently undertaking a variety of research
projects including AIN-IP, wireless technology, and
chip design. |
